The Saugerties Organic Gardens Pumpkin Growing Contest begins May 31st! Children ages 5-12 are invited to compete to grow the largest pumpkin.

Contest dates: May 31st-October 4th (rain date October 11th)

Contestants must be ages 5-12 years old

Participation is FREE!

Rules: The contest is provided by Saugerties Organic Gardens and Story Farms. Participants will be provided with a garden plot, seed, and tools. Children must be accompanied by an adult on all visits to the garden. Each family will receive one plot, which may be shared by up to 3 siblings. Seeds may be started at home, or direct sown. Participants agree to garden strictly organically, and to follow all garden rules as posted while on the property. Assistance and guidance will be provided by Saugerties Organic Gardens members as needed.
